Job Description

Position Summary:
This is an exciting position to support Cal Walks’ community capacity building and engagement work to create safer, healthier, and more equitable communities across California. Primary responsibilities and functions include project management; administrative support; community engagement, empowerment, and education facilitation and presentation of workshops and events; and cultivating relationships with City/County agency staff, and community partners. This position offers learning opportunities in community engagement, transportation and community planning, and pedestrian advocacy. The Community Programs Coordinator will work closely with the Community Programs Manager. The ideal applicant will be based in Los Angeles County or North Orange County and be willing to travel throughout California 25% of the time.

Walk San Jose Community Outreach Assistant

Job Description

Position Summary:
This is an exciting new position to spearhead Walk San Jose’s community engagement efforts in support of our Vision Zero campaign. This position will be responsible for cultivating relationships with, recruiting, and providing policy and media advocacy training to community-based and other partner organizations, neighborhood associations, community service providers, and resident leaders to participate in our Vision Zero advocacy efforts. Additionally, this position will support the Walk San Jose Program Manager in communications and media advocacy in San Jose.
