  • Report & Recommendations to Improve Stiern Park
In 2007, California Walks was invited to conduct a walkability workshop for the Greenfield Walking Group in South Kern County. California Walks facilitated a community-driven process to identify and propose solutions for how to improve the unsafe conditions of Stiern Park-ranging from aggressive dogs to roving gang members to broken bottles-as well as the crossing difficulties mothers had in getting to the park itself. As a result of these efforts, the Greenfield Walking Group transformed the park and eventually secured funds to construct a new walking path through the park.
