Community Program Specialist
Caro is an active transportation professional and mobility justice advocate who has dedicated herself to pedestrian safety for the past four years through her work with California Walks and in her community of unincorporated West Whittier in Los Angeles County. She has played an active role with California Walks' largest program, Community Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Trainings, since 2015.
Previously, she was the Pacific Coast Highway Pedestrian Safety Project Coordinator, the PedsCount! 2016 Summit Coordinator, and she led the Orange County Active Transportation Leadership Program, Curriculum Guide and Active Transportation Toolkit project. For three years she served as a Community Advisory Committee member for the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health for the West Whittier-Los Nietos Pedestrian Master Plan. Caro graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 2008 with a degree in Peace and Conflict Studies. She received her Master of Public Policy in 2013 from Mills College.
